Difference between Marshmallow Fondant and Regular Fondant?
Ordinary fondant is made with liquid glucose, gelatin, icing sugar, glycerin, and water. It takes more time to start from scratch and also the ingredients are quite hard to find, plus they will be quite expensive.
Meanwhile, marshmallow fondant is a simple version that provides the same texture as regular fondant. Because marshmallows are made with fondant as the main ingredients such as liquid glucose, gelatin and icing sugar. So, the process of making marshmallow fondant is super easy and budget-friendly.
Once the marshmallows are melted, transfer them to a bowl. Start adding icing sugar little by little, not all at once. Be patient and take your time with this step. Knead the dough for at least 15 to 20 minutes until it is soft, smooth and not sticky. I have used pink marshmallows. So it’s colored. If you are using white marshmallows, you can add food coloring of your choice when melting the marshmallows.
Ingredients

Confectioner’s sugar/icing sugar: Icing sugar is nothing but powdered sugar, which is used to thicken melted marshmallows and roll them into dough. This helps to make the dough non-sticky, soft and smooth.
Marshmallows : Marshmallows are the base of this quick fondant recipe. Because it already contains sugar and gelatin, it is easy to melt and produces an elastic base that is easy to use.
Water: A little water is used to melt the marshmallows
Oil : Oil is used to lubricate hands when kneading dough. This prevents the fondant from sticking to hands and surfaces.
